Domestic Abuse Counselling Support [DACS]

Welcome and thank you for visiting the website for DACS - Domestic Abuse Counselling Support.

DACS offers 1-1 counselling to children and young people aged from 8-21 years of age
whose lives have been affected by experiencing domestic abuse.

The aim of DACS is to improve the emotional health and mental wellbeing of these children and young people
by providing them with an opportunity to talk about their experiences and
support them to work on the things they wish to focus on to improve their lives and to be able to recover from their experiences of domestic abuse.

Counselling

Counselling is provided by Shaun Leworthy,
a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) degree qualified and insured therapist
who adheres to the ethical framework and
is on the PSA (Professional Standards Authority)
accredited register of therapists.

All work is supervised on a monthly basis by a BACP qualified Supervisor who supports the work with regard to safeguarding and a professional duty of care to clients.

Training

DACS offers bespoke training with regard to the effect of domestic abuse and how professional's can support and help young people to manage the impact of DA.
